Healthwatch Stockton-on-Tees are part of the North of Tees Dementia Collaborative network, and work closely with the Live Well Dementia Hub and Dementia Voices Stockton.

Healthwatch works closely with both the voluntary and public sectors to assist in the delivery of its statutory activities and priorities.

Healthwatch Stockton-on-Tees investigated public awareness and experiences of local alcohol service users, alcohol-related services (such as advice/counselling), alcohol-related hospital admissions and A&E attendances.

The new Integrated Urgent Care Service was launched on 1st April 2017 with Centre’s located at the University Hospital of North Tees and the University Hospital of Hartlepool. As an NHS service it is funded by the Clinical Commissioning Group.

Following a number of pieces of work completed by Healthwatch Stockton-on-Tees in the University Hospital of North Tees, from 2015 to 2016, patients reported that communication could be improved.

Following work completed by Healthwatch Stockton in 2014 ‘Arrangements for Discharge’ from the University Hospital of North Tees, further work was carried out investigating care package arrangements following patient discharge in February 2016.

During recent engagement activities, the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Sector fed back concerns with the accessibility of, and care provided by the dentists for people diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in Stockton-on-Tees.

Since January 2016, Healthwatch Stockton-on-Tees have received an overwhelming volume of feedback regarding access to and service provision of primary care services in the area.
