Healthwatch Stockton-on-Tees are pleased to invite you to our annual event.
The event will give you the opportunity to find out what we have been up to over the last year. You will also be able to find out about changes in your local health and social care services. We will be asking for your comments, concerns and opinions about the health and social care services you use. Your experiences are important and will be used to help influence change to local services. If you cannot attend the event but would still like to share your experiences with us please contact a member of staff. Our contact details can be found on our website. Booking is essential. 20 Jul 2016 - Dementia Voices Stockton Consultation Event

Dementia Voices Stockton would like to welcome you to a consultation event, this will held at the LiveWell Dementia Hub in Thornaby.
The aim of the event is to hear your voices and experiences with the dementia services in Stockton-on-Tees. This type of event will be held every two months and speakers will attend so that we can continue to hear your voices of those in Stockton-on-Tees and improve services with you in mind.
During July's event, you will be able to speak to Healthwatch Stockton-on-Tees, who would like feedback from carers and those with dementia about when you or a family member who has a dementia has been admitted to hospital; in particular the discharge process and communication issues.
A free lunch will be provided on arrival and Dementia Voices Stockton will subsidise transport to and from the event if required.

The focus of the day will be on gathering opinions from the public on how you want to engage with the providers of your health and social care. What would you want to say? How would you want to say it?
Starting with an update from Healthwatch Stockton-on-Tees' Chair, Tony Beckwith, on our successes over the last financial year, attendees will also hear from two separate speakers on developments to health and social care in their area. All participants will be asked to take part in a workshop activity on how they would like to engage with service providers, followed by a free lunch.

The NHS are facing new and increasing challenges with people living longer, more people are living with long-term health conditions and health conditions such as dementia and obesity are becoming major challenges.
NHS services across Durham and Tees Valley are currently under review to ensure the needs of the population are met now and in the future. You now have the opportunity to have your say on the programme and how acute hospital services should be provided in the future at the first public engagement consulation event for Stockton residents.

The event will provide an opportunity to understand the reasons for going fully smokefree, discuss any worries and/or concerns and be able to plan together for a smokefree environment

In partnership with Mind, Bipolar UK are delivering the lottery funded peer support project "side by side". As part of this project Bipolar UK are developing a new support group in Stockton-on-Tees for members of the community that have been affected by Bipolar Disorder.
The charity are holding a planning meeting to consult with members of the community that are affected by Bipolar Disorder and may benefit from been involved with the support group.
The planning meeting is free to attend and will be held on Wednesday 25th November 2015 at 7:00pm

Sanctuary Supported Living are holding a Health and Well-being Event on Tuesday 27th October 2015
The event is open to all members of the community but is aimed at carer's, of any age, living in the Stockton-on-Tees area.
This event will be held between 10:00am and 2:00pm at the Arc, located near Stockton-on-Tees High Street.

Stockton Borough Council will be hosting a workshop to explain the new Care Act and how this impacts carers

External agencies will be holding stalls and this will provide the opportunity to find out what help, support and advice is available for Stockton-on-Tees residents

Take part in learning how to give yourself a health-check with the support of qualified staff members.
